Arts Immersion

The arts and culture scene of Sarasota is celebrated in both its history and modern relevance. John and Mabel Ringling bestowed an art legacy at The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art that includes the largest collection of Peter Paul Rubens’s paintings as well as avant-garde temporary exhibits. The unique Circus Museum at The Ringling is also situated on the grounds. A recent addition to the contemporary Sarasota arts scene is the nationally acclaimed Sarasota Art Museum of Ringling College. The performing arts take center stage with the professional Sarasota Ballet, Orchestra, and Opera. Full-scale productions and prominent speakers often appear at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. In addition, Sarasota is home to multiple diverse and local theater companies, such as Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, Florida Studio Theatre, and Asolo Repertory Theatre just to name a few.
