Enea's Landscape Design is part of the Development Team at The Residences at The St. Regis Longboat Key

From jacarandas to cocoplums and lilies to irises, the thoughtfully sculpted garden landscapes and white sand beaches will be the hallmark of the St. Regis Longboat Key Resort lifestyle. This inspired natural setting will be artfully redefined under the direction of Swiss landscape architect Enzo Enea. Enea has been recognized for his exceptional talents showcased in the design of more than 1,000 garden settings world-wide, including private gardens for the Queen of Bahrain and Prince Charles.

Enea’s challenge included the preservation of Longboat Key’s cherished coastal dunes while creating a memorable experience for residents and guests of the St. Regis. At the core of his philosophy is the balance between the exterior space and the interior. “The surrounding landscape should flow into the house and be reflected in the architecture,” noted Enea. The goal is to merge the windswept coastal landscape and vivid colors of the Gulf of Mexico with his vision of art, architecture, and design. He is known for this ability to integrate striking design elements that amaze and inspire intimacy with the authentic environment while keeping the individual grounded in their natural surroundings.

Unicorp, visionary developer of the St. Regis Longboat Key Resort, completed a global search to select the design team for this prestigious property. Enzo Enea is working in concert with a best-in-class roster of industry professionals who are bringing the resort to life. From the moment residents and guests enter the resort, Enea’s creativity and craftsmanship will be on brilliant display at the St. Regis. Jacarandas, fragrant purple trumpet-shaped blooms, will be planted within the community delivering a delightful greeting with its tropical beauty.

Well-known for its powder-soft sand and warm, turquoise waters, the beaches of Longboat Key showcase an exceptional ecosystem within the St. Regis Longboat Key. The warm Florida climate promotes the unique tropical and serene environment of the St. Regis which will feature over 40 different species, plants and flora. The natural dune system will be enhanced by removing non-native invasive species and adding landscape boulders, artwork and native species to define the outdoor amenity areas.

The smooth, undulating architectural façade will stand in contrast to the lush tropical gardens, saltwater lagoon pool and a meandering swimming pool that flows throughout the expansive Gulf-front community. Each design element is inspired by the stunning nature of the Gulf of Mexico and each setting protects the Longboat Key’s cherished atmosphere. Modern yet refined, meticulous yet relaxed, The St. Regis brings its revered, best-in-class experience at an unprecedented level.

Bringing his immense artistic talent to Florida’s west coast, Enea has been tirelessly devoted to designing a memorable environment for The Residences at The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort. Prior to commencing this effort, he designed some of the most recognizable gardens at luxury hotels and spas around the world. Enea has also showcased his work in Austria as the public art installation, “For Forest—The Unending Attraction of Nature.” For this piece Enea arranged almost 300 trees within a football stadium, the intent of this was to challenge our perception and relationship with nature.
